10 Essential Tools I Use To Run My Coaching Business
If you’re an aspiring coach or entrepreneur who is ready to get started on launching her dream online business but you just don’t what you need to get started, this post is for you. Here, I’m sharing the top 10 essential business tools I use to run my coaching business. I cover everything you need for building your beautiful website that converts visitors into clients like crazy, tools to help you grow your tribe quickly, and much more.
Okay, so starting from the very beginning of launching your dream online biz, the first thing you need is to purchase your domain and hosting for your website. I personally love and use WordPress.org and host it through Bluehost, which I highly recommend you do. Bluehost is great for both newbie entrepreneurs and seasoned pros. It’s very easy to get all set up and it’s super affordable too. You can’t beat that.

Don’t believe anyone that tells you that you need to hire a super expensive graphic designer to design your website when you’re first starting out. Please save your dollars. There’s way more important things you can invest your money in.
Instead, opt for a premium theme. I love and have used Elegant Theme’s Divi theme from day one. I designed my entire website (which is super pretty if I do say so myself) with zero design or coding experience.
I love that the Divi theme is not like other themes you find out there. It’s more of a page builder that allows you to drag and drop things to create really beautiful and professional looking pages. I walk my 1:1 coaching clients through exactly how I created my website. It’s very intuitive to use and the customization capabilities are endless. I highly recommend it.
My main marketing strategy in my business is Pinterest and it’s also what I teach my clients how to use to market their businesses. It’s helped me grow my tribe by thousands very quickly and a big reason why is because I automate all of my pins using Tailwind.
Since using Tailwind, I’ve had numerous pins go viral (we’re talking 100,000 + saves combined) and grown my reach on Pinterest to two freaking million viewers per month, which is pretty insane! It’s an absolute essential. If you’re ready to grow your business super quickly, you can get your first month of Tailwind for FREE right here.
Dropbox is another one of my essential business tools for sure. I love, love, love Dropbox and use it to store and share pretty much my entire life. Everything from documents to photos to exclusive content I only share with my 1:1 coaching clients. I don’t remember life before Dropbox. Seriously.
I have no idea what I would do without Evernote. It captures my entire life! It’s kind of my catch-all for everything. I use it to gather ideas, create content, gather inspiration, write to-do lists and grocery lists, map out big projects, keep client notes, jot down important information I need to reference later— literally everything. It helps keep me super productive in my business. Plus, I love having all my notes and info in one place for my sanity. And I love that they have an app that syncs to all my devices.
Google Suite is awesome. I use Google Docs for writing content for my blog or newsletters. I love using spreadsheets to keep track of business expenses. Google calendar keeps track of my life and appointments. My favorite feature, however, is that it allows you to create custom email addresses with your own domain so you look like a total pro.
For booking discovery calls with potential clients and coaching clients, definitely go with Acuity. It makes it super easy. I also love that you can sync it to your Stripe account to take payment through there as well. I’m all about making things easy in your business. It’s definitely a must-have business tool in my biz.
For email marketing, I love and recommend Convertkit. It’s super easy to use even for beginners. I love that you can tag and segment certain people on your email list. Automating things is also pretty effortless. So you can write a sales funnel that slays and turns new subscribers into clients.
I can’t say enough good things about Leadpages. It’s one of those business tools that once you try, you can’t live without. Leadpages is great for creating beautiful landing pages for promoting your freebies to your dream clients, thank you pages, or sales pages.
I usually have a pro— aka my dad who happens to be a photographer— shoot my brand photos. (Side note: Check out my tips for your first personal branding photoshoot here.) But for more casual photos for blog posts or social media or for filming videos, I either use my iPhone or this ahhmazing little Canon EOS M100 camera.
I love that it takes really good quality photos that rivals those of a more expensive DSLR camera but for a small fraction of the price. I find myself reaching for this one way more than I do my DSLR simply because of how easy it is to use (even if you have no photography experience) and it’s small enough that I can just throw it in my purse.
And that’s it! Those are my top 10 essential business tools for running my coaching business. I hope it was helpful as you start to launch your dream online biz.
